Junior Play —the sound of the juniors in dramatics Each year one of the highlights of Benton Consolidated High School is the Junior Play. ‘This year the play was a comedy called “Stag Line” and was under the direction of Mr. Miller, our speech teacher. Maudie, played by Esther Hays tries her best to make all the arrangements for her sister Sylvia’s, Nancy Bauer, wedding to Jerry, Jerry Eubanks. Al though many things go wrong, it turns out to be a happy ending. Others in the play are: Brenda Payne, mother; Robert Chapman, father; Mary Monroe, Alix; Villa Sneed, Julie; Evelyn Payne, Lizbeth; Sondra Smith, Ting; Virginia Milton, Carol; Jeff Barlow, Ronald; Judy Baker, Smitty; David Miller, Davy; Tommy Saxe, Chi; Phil Foster, Mac; Paula Jones, Margaret; and Richard Singer, Snoots. Tommy Saxe tries to get in Esther Hays’s ‘Stag Line.’’ It seems as if the same person always gets the blame for y g p everything, and she is usually the right one. 23
