18 Student Council The Student Council is an organization which helps promote new ideas and which governs the school. Members are elected from their respective classes and the President and Vice-President are au- tomatically members. They take charge of all assem- blies, lyceums, and class elections. Sometime during the school year, they sponsor a dance. Chorus The Chorus is both pleased and honored to have as their director Mr. Jerome Hart. This is Mr. Hart’s first year at BCHS and he has done a wonderful job of directing the chorus and the band. Although the chorus has only twenty-two members, they have done many things. Two of them were to send chorus students to Carbondale on October the eleventh to the Music Clinic and to put on a Christmas concert. The Diversified Occupation Club’s members make money while they learn on-thejob training for after high school graduation occupations. These students do not intend to attend college after graduation and wish to learn a trade or occupation. They attend high school in the mornings and work in the afternoons. The officers of the 1958-1959 D. O. Club are: Jim Hutchens, President, and Barbara Tedrow, Secretary. 20 dian PNA
