BAND AND MAJORETTES Under the direction of Mr. Frank Long, one of the most outstanding bands we have and formations were very original. the B.T.H.S. band was ever had. Their marching The following students were the capable leaders of this years band Philip Elgenmann-Co-Captaln; Mary Snow-Co-Captain Iva Harris-l- Lt. Shirley Sharp-l l Lt.; Pat Parkhil 2nd Lt.; Mary Glfford-2nd Lt. Georgia Adams, Prisclilla Ponse and Mary Ellen Sharp were the Majo ettes. They lead the band in thei many formations and their colorful twirling added splendor to this o ganizatlon. They also capably par lcipated in the drum section of th band. One of the most outstanding evei of the band was their campaign foi the Mile of Pennies which would tal them on a Spring Concert Tour into the neighboring states. The band also gave u series of concerts during the year. 20

The annual Echo Carnival was held on March 11 Editorial Staff— Feature Writers, Iva Harris, Larry Conner, Irene Mrogenski; Feature Editors, Caro Hughes and Corene Davis. Sport Editors, Kirby Browning and Jim Aiken; Sports Writer, Max Warren. Business Staff— Business Manager, Mary Snow; Advertising Solicitors, Sydne Moore and Beth Smith. Circulation Staff—Betty Hutchens, Jane Edwards, Joe Smith; Typists, Dorothy Bart.osik, Frances Woods, and Georgia Adams. Reporters—Necia Ackley, Pat Parkhill, Suzanne Roberts, Betty Baker, Carole Shaw, Jean Webb, and Patsy Harben.
