BAND AND MAJORETTES Under the direction of Mr. Frank Long, one of the most outstanding bands we have and formations were very original. the B.T.H.S. band was ever had. Their marching The following students were the capable leaders of this years band Philip Elgenmann-Co-Captaln; Mary Snow-Co-Captain Iva Harris-l- Lt. Shirley Sharp-l l Lt.; Pat Parkhil 2nd Lt.; Mary Glfford-2nd Lt. Georgia Adams, Prisclilla Ponse and Mary Ellen Sharp were the Majo ettes. They lead the band in thei many formations and their colorful twirling added splendor to this o ganizatlon. They also capably par lcipated in the drum section of th band. One of the most outstanding evei of the band was their campaign foi the Mile of Pennies which would tal them on a Spring Concert Tour into the neighboring states. The band also gave u series of concerts during the year. 20

JUNIOR“SENIOR RECEPTION On Saturday night, May 14, the juniors entertained the seniors at the annual junior-senior reception. The therae chosen for the reception was the Gold Rush of f49, and the gym was cleverly decorated. A skit entitled The Shooting of Dan McGrew was presented by several members of the junior class. The setting of of the skit was the Dirty, Dirty Shame Saloon , and a quartet sang several old-fashioned folk songs. The remainder of the evening, was spent dancing to the music of Jimmie Small.
