A a matter of fact wo wore probably more frightened Ilian the teacher- and we girls all congregated at the west door on the first morning. The Ito.vs finally joined us and when the gong rang we all made a grand rush for the hack scat , fler considerable |K rsuasion no were finally induced to sit one in a scat. The Big Four's” crush on Mr. Clouse was quite sensational, and we millI head'” and idiot all loved Miss Howard. 'The only tliiiip worth calling a social event was the picnic at Dig Muddy, the one several of n rememher In-cause we ha l to walk home. In our Freshman year we lost several of our old niemliers. We had several social events this year, tin-first of which was our Hallowe'en masquerade. It was held in the gym and the ro| e swing (with a seat large enough for two) played an inqiorlnut | art. Mrs. MeKensv told our fortune and several of the little incidents sin forvti.ld have come true. 'I hen New A car eve we had a watcli party at Khoda' and did not invite the faculty. He id this daring deed, we served brick ice cream with fork . The picnic at Hamilton's l.akc. and that ncvcr-lo-lie-forgottcn episode when I in and Bob took their boat ride, closed the social events of our Freshman year. During this year Mis McOrecry coaelnd the girl's in basket ball, and this was the Ix-ginningof that famous organization known as the Senior girls' basket ball team. ‘is Histuni It was this year. too. The Camp Pin- girls were organized during our I'rcshmnn year with M iss l’f:iff ax our guardian. Now we were Sophies, right in the midst of our High School course, and we made the most of it. too. We were allowed lo organize our class this year and Tim was elected president. This year we were a great trouble to some people. Init were not worried much ourselves. We had planned a candy pull, when suddenly small-| ox broke out and school was dismissed. There was a young Sophomore named Tim. Who while schooling his health got dim. Though I was founded on rocks. He got the small |K»x. And now we miss no one like him. After a week of nothing we c ame hack to school and the |H | iilarery was liecareful of my arm . Then came that sensational candy party: the one you remember when Ihirh igh and John put our c olors on the flag pole: someone filled the piano with books: someone else disconnected the lights and bells: some wicked child even laid the audacity to steal Mr. Like's pencil sharpener. What we enjoyed most of the party, however. was the aftermath. All the Imvs were forced to apologize for putting soap on the bust of Abraham Lincoln, and Mr. Lake announced that the Sophomore class no longer existed. Hut lo! the tenth graders
