One of the best band shows given this year was the Blue's Show. The baton twirlers did a twirling routine to the iazzy "South Rampart Street Parade March" played by the band in company-front formation. Next the band formed two sets of eighth notes and a treble clef sign and played "Can't Help Lovin' That Man." For the last formation the band made a multi-colored showboat and thrilled the audience with "Old Man River." Surrounded by a circle of sousaphones, Mr. Kuschel instructs the musicians. The band is paced by a high-stepping, back-bending drum maior and dexterous baton twirlers. The band owed much of its success the past three years to its drum major, George Peapples. l4I

' Zami The Benton Harbor High School Marching Band continued to live up to its fine reputation as one of the best marching bands in Michigan. Perhaps the most important addition to this year's marching band was the new pre-game entrance, emphasized by the high step. After only one week's practice, the band received the highest rating at Riverview Park in Chicago competition against llO other loands from the lower great lakes region. Even the flu bug didn't prevent this year's marching band from getting a first division at the Marching Festival on October the 9th. Ll i P is - .rfr Q-:rVMaa.v,g5.
