Y , fm . 1 f'kx ful-5, cuss Hlsronv I 4 We will never forget our first day of school Most of our parents had to take us to school because we were so bashful and feared our new venture in life Gradually we be- came us ed to the idea of being with our new friends and we grew to like school During the next few years our skills in reading and writing improved, 'we thought, but sometimes our d teachers questioned this Also we began to learn that 2 -l- 2 4, and as the years passe by our course of study became extended and we finally had to learn how to study and to do a liked 't because l1ttle night work We "gr1ped' about it of course, but at the same t1me we 1 we were learning and a Our eighth grade proved very exciting The highlights were a wonderful skating party weiner roast The Legion Awards went to Janet Fefolt and Joe S8lV1tt1 Rexnernber how very t d rin this frightened they were before they gave their acceptance speeches Also, 1 was u g year that We saw Esther Petronka spell her way to championship 9th grade, Mr N Hrutkay and Mrs Bernowski sponsored a "Get could get better acquainted with the new students from Somerset We really got acquainted, d1dn't we? ? We will never forget our initiation day when those wicked Sophomores smeared our faces with lipstick We had fun eating hot peppers and onions, drinkmg vanilla and crawling on our knees Remember when we would talk too much and Mr Hrutkay would make us write, "S11ence is a Golden Virtue, " 500 times? Those were the good old days Our "Freshmen Frol1c" was held on Friday, the 13th and "boy" were we unlucky that night! I !
