Motor ama d1splay of h1s moblle p1nk garage doors By th1S t1me Carole Ann and I were ready to leave and dec1ded we should top offthe even1ng by enJoy1ng a 'n1ght cap at Gus1e's n1ghtclub Be1ng carr1ed back Z0 years by so much rem1n1sc1ng the even1ng wouldn't be complete w1th out a glass of Stubblef1eld's Brew Mar1lyn and G1lda have d1scovered a new and novel malt beverage and thelr lovely faces grace the labels on each blue bottle As we were s1pp1ng our dr1nk 111 a d1mly ht corner of Fredd1e's Fr1endly Inn we tr1ed to account for all the 56 sen1ors we had not met By compar1ng notes I belleve we have been able to complete the l1st Ellen Robere 1S so busy wash1ng 1ron1ng cooklng and scrubb1ng for her fam1ly of twelve that she hasn't a moment for fr1vol1ty Carl Alberts was last heard of 1n the v1c1r11ty of the north woods of M1ch1gan Dave LeCla1re 1S con v1nced that he has been too fr1endly w1th the f1sh and fallen 1n so he IS camp1r1g 1n var1ous spots and makmg da1ly searches for Carl We wonder how long he w1ll be able to neglect h1S roof1ng bus1ness 1n Ch1cago Lee Garber 1S establ1shed ln Las Vegas Wlth a very prof1table gambl1ng house 1n tow Allan Dyer IS h1s favor1te body guard and the two fellows wh1le away many hours engaged 1n a v1c1ous game of "F1Sh Betty Tarno has her own Beauty Salon at Hollywood and V1ne w1th Z0 operators 1n her employ A ha1r styl1st of no small renown the stud1os often call on her for her expert advlce Pat Harr1son seems to be the farthest away from her h1gh school days She 1S now 1n Glenv1lle Tanganylka teach1ng preach1ng do1ng a l1ttle b1t of eve ry th1ng It sounds l1ke Pat named the v1llage too' Thls seemed to be everyone except Wanda Cool1ng and Gary Stevens lhad m1ssed them at Motorama but not our br1ght eyed reporter Carole Ann She had spotted Gary bus1ly tak1ng transm1ss1ons from cars at Motorama a sort of mama w1th h1m and Wanda Coll1ng pat1ently follow1ng h1m around and expertly replacxng them She has been 1mprov1ng her mechan1cal sk1ll all these years and Gary s 'shenan1gans had been a challenge to her When he's f1n1shed h1s rounds he'll be surpr1sedto f1nd that h1s 1C6 cream cart does not conta1n trans m1ss1ons Our"Stubblef1eld's Brew 'consumed by th1s t1me we dec1ded It was t1me for each ofus to go our own way and that we d1d each w1th a s1gh for days gone by at Bentley 1 I , - ' --. He has made sucha name for h1mself out 1n Wyom1ng that he was 1nv1ted to New York to glve the 1nvocat1on for th1s program As he f1n1shed Charlle Bond stepped 1nto the spotl1ght He as pres1dent of General Motors was on hand to extend h1s welcome to the many v1s1tors He presented the M1stress of Cere momes for the even1ng Entermg from the wmgs and chatter1ng all the way as usual came Carol Chr1stensen Her happy sm1le and fr1endly way soon won the attent1on of the aud1ence and she presented the f1rst act star veteran enter ta1ner of the show M155 Nancy Hew1g Her dance rout1ne 1ncluded parts of all her T V programs W1th such talent 1t's no wonder she edged Jack1e Gleason off telev1s1on and ga1ned Bulck for a sponsor The second enterta1ner was none other than Dolores Walton whose act had a catchy name to f1t 1n w1th the show 'Demonstrator of Horse Power' Her demonstratlon was noth1ng more than putt1ng Trxgger her palam1no through h1s paces The next art1st was an old fr1end Barber Jmm Glasco .hm had come so that we m1ght see an"Ear to Ear Ha1rcut' 1n the cutt1ng John Barn1ske h1s "l1v1ng model' advert1ses th1s co1ffure as the ha1rdo forall dr1vers of Z1ppo Rod sports cars Helen Coates came next on the program and kept the aud1ence 1n rapt sllence w1th her rend1t1on of St Lou1s Blues She has become a star throughout the have become a part of the muslcal past Carol closed her program w1th a publ1c thank you to one of the workers at Motorama none other than fa1thful sweeper and handy man Leo Vlckerman Leo has been w1th the show for years, ever s1nce he left the same Job at A C and was publ1cly commended th1s year for h1s loyal serv1ce As Carol Ann and I cont1nued our tour we were overpowered by he1ght We metHelenM1tchell now a 5'll' model and presldent of the Sky Scrapers' Club and Ernest1ne Mart1n w1th her 7' son now a star basketball profess1onal They brought us news oftwo more classmates Jack Morton and Bernard Pas co Bernard has become truant off1cer for Bentley School and has the reputat1on for be1ng rough Jack 15 an adm1ral 1n the U S Navy w1th a SpCC1al Slde l1ne oftra1n1ngsa11ors for h1s Water Baseball Team He's conv1nced thatthls sport 1mproves the sw1mm1ng of h1s men Our v1s1t was lnterrupted by a muffled groan1ng very near us We not1ced Jerry Evans Slttlng 1n a Sport Coupe bounc1ng on the seat to try 1ts sprlngs Jerry runs a steam bath, but from h1s s1ze one would Judge he seldom patron 1zes h1s own bus1ness We suggested to h1m that the groan1ng was emanat1ng from the car 1n wh1ch he sat He 1mmed1ate1y stepped out and from under the cush1on popped Fredd1e Gusle He had found a comfortable spot and fallen off 1nto dreamland As a n1ghtclub propr1etor Fredd1e cla1ms he can never f1nd a qu1et spot 4 . . . , . , . . . . . . , 1 . , 1 1 --1 , - 9 ' . 1 1 . -1 ' , I . i . . . . , . , . . , .
