I EU: ll' In the fall under the refreshing Illinois autumn days, our Interests lie in hikes and baseball In the cold wlnter we turn to indoor sports such as volleyball and basketball In the sprlng our Interest will agaxn turn to the outdoors wlth hlkes, soft ball, and soccer In eddltlon to our games the interest in G A A was kept alive by var lous pertles During the fall of the year the losing girls team in baseball gave a weiner roast for the wlnnlng teas In the winter we gave a chilli supper for the vlctorious baseball champ ons of Voodford County X 'K k'4k llI. lI llI- MW. In the spring we spon ored a party for our highly successful basketball team It so happens this year that all G A A members are also F H A mem er Due to a change of teachers 3 tlmes yearly our F H organlzatlon has een slightly overlooked because of the lack organization At the start of the year Beulah Harber was elected presldent Marian Manley Vloe Presldent Mary Thomas Treasurer and Betty Geiken Secretary ve hope our B H A organizatlon w ll be able to organize and cnrrv out in an effectlve manner Its alms and lQ9LS next year Continued F F A Sectlon 9 F F A Public Speaking Contest Cletus wxll participate In the Di trlct Speaking Contest ln April Benson placed very well with the r Judging team in the Section 9 contest at Normal and at the State Contest at Champalgn The Benson Chapter vas represented at the State Convention with L boys X in Kansas City Also two boys attended the International Livestock Expo 1tion Earlier in the year several members exhibited A6 hogs at the Jr Market Hog 'kk 'e 9 Show at Chicago Benson sponsored the Section Q F F A Leadership Trainlnp School 'n whkm the Officers and instructors from Sectlon 9 attended The Chapter vas also represented at the Recreation Day The Chapter project this year consists of e sow and litter and of fell P18 The Chapter has four sectional officers they are Lyle Schertz Sect'aml Chairman Albert hlnrlcrs Vlce President Cletu Schert7 Treasure and Dean N Jackson Sectional Advlsor On April IO the Chapter held its annual Father and Con Banquet A deli cious dinner was served by the F H A afterwhich an enterta ning program wa enjoyed Cletus Scherty, President, served as Toastmaster of the occe ion given by Dawson Womeldorff Manager Agricultural northern Illlnol Other F F A members who appmled u ,Verle Kolb, Roger G and Billy M The prlnclpal address was Sales, Public Service Co on tre program were Dale flillllllllllliiii!!liiiilllIlilll.
