1940 - THE MILL - 1941 SENIOR CLASS VISTORY Fourteen jolly freshmen, destined to be the Senior Class of l9bl, began 1 new life when they trooped into Benson Commun ity High School Leona Dirks remained with us only three d ys, leaving the number at unlucky thirteen What fun it was adgusting ourselves to this new life! Most of us had dlffleulty in finding our way to the various classes LeRoy maintains that the only means of finding his way was by shadowing Oscar During the first class meeting the following officers were elected President Shirley Reeser Vice President, Millicent Heiken Sec Treas Mildred Oltman dviser, Esther Imm Ros anna Kapraun Sec Treas the last two months of the year I Besides our studies our Freshmen year consisted of many parties The school term ended with the gala all school picnic which we had looked forward to all year September 1958 After the usual summer vacation, we re turned to school as sophomores Mildred Oltman moved to El Paso, leaving the number an even dozer New officers chosen were President, Oscar Braunschweig Vice President, Millicent Heiken Sec Treas , Matilda Flohr dvisor, Eleanor Stover The facultv remained the 'une raun and Matilda Flohr were no longer among us Again class leaders were chosen President LeRoy'Va1l1s Vice resident Robert Koehler, Sec Trees , Oscar Braunsch eig ndvisor, Esther Imm Several new faculty members replaced Miss Stover, Wr Otto and Mr O'Teole respectively Miss Schmitt, Nr Farrell, and Mr F ssino e made our dramatieal debut by presenting THE TAMING OF TUFFY In a very precarious situ tion 'the thug Robert Harms and James Ford, were knocked out Hdwever James 1HS1S ted on chewing gum and Robert's audible euch' echoed through out the hall The Junior Senior banouet, THB CRUISE OF THE M RRY GANG, climaxed the vear September 19hO Back to school for our last year a little older and much wiser than we were the flrst time we entered the doors of Benson H1 To guide our final year were President, Robert Moinhold Vice President, Rosalene Smilie, Sec Troas , . .
