ASW GRU Radm Norman C. Gillette Rear Admiral Norman C. Gillette, Jr,, presently serving as Commander Anti-Sub. marine Warfare Group Three, reported to this billet from a tour as Chief, U.S. Military Group in Spain. Radm Gillette came aboard BENN with ASW GRU 3 in June and moved to the HORN ET CCVS-121 with the Group in September when BENN received word of decommissioning. Radm Gillette, a 1936 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, served aboard the battle- ships Texas and New Mexico until the early World War ll period. He then underwent flight training and became a flight instructor at Jacksonville. ln early 1944 he assumed com- mand of Patrol Bomber Squadron 71 and de- ployed to the South Pacific.
