Ever on the alert, sailing from the sultry tropics to the wintry north, the Flest operates on the broadest avenues of the world: the seas and the oceans. Naval aircraft fly from carrier decks, the most flexible airfields in existence. Such mobility and versatility enable the U. S. SEVENTH FLEET to furnish real, on-the-spot pro- tection to United States foreign policy, whenever and wherever it is required, throughout all of Asia. his log pictures the normal, everyday life of the ship and its men as they go about their tasks.
