SenTinel over This gaTeway is The Rock oT GibralTar, a synonym Tor Tirmness everywhere. TWe approached The Rock in a rain squall which shrouded The upper halT in misT and added To iTs rugged appearance. Rising sTraighT up Trom The waTer's edge, The easTern side oT The TorTress seemed To grow higher as we drew nearer, Tinally disappearing in The clouds.' A break in The midsT gave us a good- view oT The enTire Rock-and we could see how The expression had iTs sTarT. IT would Take a loT To 'move Tha+ monTsrous pebble.
