Rex Spicer came in the middle of our Sophomore year from Colorado. Our Junior year we came back eager for more schooling, less two members, Phil Hull and Rex Spicer. We tackled the concession stands with great ambition. We lost Thelma Shoaf six weeks after school started. For our Junior Play, we gave Take Three Girls, We had our Junior-Senior Banquet. The theme was Hawaiian Cruise. Mr. Adcock was our sponsor. In September, 1953, we found we were entering our Senior year with the responsibility of setting an example for the lower classes. During the summer we lost Carl Friend. We gained one member, Darrell Harrelson, from Fredonia. We finish with a class of nine. Mr, Best is our sponsor, We anticipate a full schedule of interesting activ- ities as we move toward graduation. We feel we have accomplished much during our school years, and we hope we can make the best of what we have learned. LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF SENIOR CLASS We, the Seniors of Benedict High School, being of unsound mind and poor memory, do hereby publish, and declare this to be our last will and testament: I, Jane Elder, will my ability to talk in music without getting caught to Deane Morgan, and my car to anyone who can find it. I, Dorthe Erickson, will my ability to get into trouble to Howard Shively, and my beautiful handwriting to anyone who can read it.

The weather was too dry in Germany so we decided to visit the icy peaks of Switzerland. In a small picturesque village we come across Dorthe Erickson. She moved there about 5 years ago to teach the people about child control. So far she has neither a husband or children to control herself . Foreign countries are nice but home sweet home is much better. In San Francisco we stop to refuel and saw Arnette Harris running a restaurant. She specializes in good home cooking. She located there because her boyfriend is stationed near on a Navy base, Homeward bound we stop a while in Poenix, Arizona. There we see Mr. and Mrs. Earl Miller, the former Barbara Faulkner, and their three children. They own a large cattle ranch and had just struck oil. I'm glad someone can afford their children in this high priced era. The trip was nice but we were all glad to get back to Benedict. There we find Mr. Best and his wife, Dorothy, and their nine children. He always said he would have a good girls softball team even if he had to raise them himself. It just so happens they're all girls. CLASS HISTORY In the fall of '50, we entered the halls of Benedict High School for the first time as industrious Freshmen. There were twelve graduates from Benedict Grade School. They were: Jane Elder, Carl Friend, Barbara Faulkner, Arnette Harris, Janice Hobbs, G. R, Hutchison, Bobby King, Arline Miller, Patsy Payne, Dorthe Erickson, Thelma Shoaf, and Phil Hull. From rural schools came Donald Thielenhaus and Francis Comstock. Bobby King left in the middle of our Freshman year and Francis Comstock quit school after a few weeks. Our sponsor was Mr. Jerigan. Twelve sophomores came back in September, 1951, to resume the course of study. Mrs. Crawford sponsored us through the second year. Donald Thielenhaus was transferred to Altoona.

I, Arnette Harris, will my blond hair to Arzada Ogle, and my small feet to Sadie West. l, Darrell Harrelson, will my stupid look to Roger Ford, who already has a head start, and my love for the Benedict High School girls to any freshman boy who can fill my shoes. I, Janice Hobbs, will my good salesmanship to Florence Shively, and my ability to coach the second team, girls' softball, to anyone who has a hankering to handle demons. I, G. R. Hutchison, will my ability to keep a wave in my hair to Bill Smith and a wave in my pitch to Jerry West. I, Patsy Payne, will my old school books to anyone who wants them, and all my boyfriends but one, to all the freshman girls. I, Arline Miller, will my ability to argue more than anyone else to Bobby Baughn, and my slightly used car to anyone who can drive it. In the presence of Witnesses, we hereby set our hand and seal, in the year of our Lord, One thousand nine hundred and fifty-four, A.D, Senior Class Benedict, Kansas
