SENIOR CLASS PLAY Urbane! Chilling! SinisTerl Kind Lady is a sinisTer melodrama adapTed Trom a sTory wriTTen by Hugh Walpole. The remarkable play cenTers around The arisTo- craTic Mary Herries lDiane Rundelll in her beau- TiTully Turnished home in London. Mary, The kind lady, Takes in a clever young criminal, Henry AbboTT lCharles Fairgrievesl and his cruel gang oT hoodlums-Mr. and Mrs. Ed- wards lRoger YaTes and Donna WhiTingl and Their animal-like daughTer, Aggie lGloria Suhrl. They gain enTrance To Mary's home Through The pre- Tended illness oT Ada lNancy Sewelll-Henry's wiTe--and The docTor lGalal Goughl. Mary's besT Triend, Lucy WesTon lEleanor Ackermannl, and Rose lShirley Gieseckel, her TaiThTul maid, warn her oT dangers OT This associaTion. Wishing To gain conTrol oT The kind lady's wealTh and arT Treasures, Henry slowly dominaTes her mind, Trying To convince her ThaT she is be- coming insane. He breaks all her conTacTs wiTh The ouTside world: and her relaTives, Phyllis Glen- ning lPaT Doblerl and PeTer STanTord lDick Millsl, are Told ThaT she has gone abroad. Henry Tries To sell her arT Treasures To Mr. Rosenberg llzrank ShapperTl. Mary, seeing a chance To reveal ThaT she wanTs help, Tries To send a message wiTh him. The plighT oT The kind lady seems hopeless unTil her lasT aTTempT To geT help succeeds. As The Tinal curTain closes, she goes To answer a knock aT The door. She is conTidenT +ha+ The police have arrived To end her capTure. New lighTing was purchased To creaTe beTTer IighTing eTTecTs Tor diTFerenT scenes. To give a more appropriaTe seTTing The scenery was also rebuilT. The diTTiculT play was ably direcTed by Miss Bowman. Much crediT Tor iTs success also goes To The large producTion sTaTT which assisTed wiTh The cosTuming, prompTing, gaThering oT properTies, and doing many odd jobs. To The casT, To Miss Bowman, and To all who Took parT in any way, we say ThaT Kind Lady was a superb perTormance. 25 Rlzflhg fo fame and fortune are ffze anderclassmen . . . stars of B. fi. 5. pfzofoplay of fomorro w. The Team redeemed Their Tollowers' TaiTh in Them, however, by cleTeaTing a small and TasT Geneva eleven, 28 To O. The LiTTle Warriors conTinued Their winning ways as They ouTclassed ST. Thomas, 47 To O7 WoodsToclc, 49 To Og Freepor'T Y.lvl.C.A., 46 To IZ: and Marengo 25 To 6. The lasT game on The schedule was losT To ST. Edwards by The narrow margin oT one poinT because a penalTy was called againsT The Bucs iusT as Grubb plunged over wiTh The Tying poinT. The Tinal score was I3 To I2 in Tavor OT ST. Edwards.
