Morrell has served his community in that position for 23 years. Previously a teacher in rural schools, Mr. Morrell also taught agriculture and served as principal at Beloit High School. Not limiting his service to the schools, Mr. Morrell has been president of the Community Hospital Board and on the board of directors for the Building and Loan association among other activities. Mr. Morrell received his B. S. degree from Missouri University and attended Chicago University and Kansas University for post graduate work. Beverly Larkins, the able assistant of Mr. Morrell, is pictured in the lower right hand corner. Completing his twenty-third year as principal of Beloit High School, E.M. Chestnut serves as a director of all school activities. He encourages a balanced athletic program, promotes class activities, boosts for a good Trojan music program, and takes an interest in every student. He has served as secretary of the North Central Kansas League for eleven years, devotes time to assist the Chamber of Commerce with educational programs in Beloit, and finds time to play his favorite sport- golf. Mr. Chestnut received his A. in economics from the University of Kansas and his M. S. in history from Kansas State. He taught previously at Manhattan High School.
