LESLIE W. CROWSON TO THE CLASS OF 1957: You are leaving Belmont Senior High School for the last time and this brings to a close your formal public school life. However, life is essentially made up of beginnings, not endings. You are about to apply the knowledge you have gained to experiences which in this changing world will begin anew each day. You will begin learning new ideas and methods and begin applying them to new materials for the beginning of new products and services as you carry on your life work. To meet the challenge of this changing pattern successfully we must be emotionally stable, intellectually alert, physically active, and morally honest. Remember your happiness and success in life depends directly on your recognition of and adherence to the truth. Congratulations and best wishes to you all — LESLIE W. CROWSON, Director Belmont Vocational High School

TO THE CLASS OF 1957: 1 am happy to extend my personal greetings to every individual in this excellent class. The fact that you have accomplished your objective and are to graduate from our High School in June 1957, makes me happy. On the other hand, the realization that you are about to terminate your direct and active association with our schools makes me sad. In spite of these mixed feelings, however, I want to assure every member of the class that he has my best wishes for continued success and happiness. Sincerely yours, CHARLES R THIBADEAU Superintendent of Schools The realization that your immediate goal has been achieved should now provide you with encouragement to seek additional goals to challenge your abilities. The individual who can shoulder his share of the burden is the one whose work, for its merit, is respected and admired. A high sense of values, integrity, purposefulness and respect for others arc essential in all fields of successful endeavor. You will profit by evaluating the past, and appraising the present in planning for the future. Best wishes, success, and happiness to one and all. GEORGE HIGGINBOTTOM Principal

And Qladly Teach . . . A y r? ' •' yi 7-:i The direction in which education starts a man will determine his future life” Plato We, as seniors of Belmont High School, arc indebted to the members of our faculty for the cooperation and guidance extended to us for the past three years. Their counsel has nourished the seeds of our adolescence to maturity and has shared in making our graduation possible. Our welfare and education have been their prime concern, and the)' have worked unceasingly to provide us with knowledge for later life.
