Circle K Club BELMONT ABBEY COLLEGE CIRCLE K CLUB ELECTS OFFICERS On Tuesday, Septeber 29, the Circle K Club members of Belmont Abbey College elected their new officers for this year. An accounting major, Dave Tenney from Kentucky was ele cted as President. Dave is a sophomore transfer from Brescia College, where he held the titles ofLt. Governor and Vice President in that branch of the Circle K Club. He was also involved in such clubs as the Fine Arts Association (President), Student Government (Senator), the yearbook staff, and many choir groups. Claire Castano, a freshman from New Bern, North Carolina, was elected as Vice President. Claire is a Business Major and as she was active m high school, she is active at the Abbey. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Honor Society and the International Students Assocation. Elected to the office of Treasurer was Katherine Aukward. Kat is from Washington, D.C and is a junior majoring in Economics She is a little sister to Pi Kappa Phi. Vicki Klemczak, a sophomore from Bronx, New York, was elected as secretary. She is a Business major and is on the volleyball team, a member of the International Students Association and the Student Admissions Committee. Tony Galipo has been elected as the new Chaplain. A freshman from Maryland, Tony ' s major is undecided. Elected as Sergent at Arms was Bill Barak, a brother of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. Bill is a junior majoring in Busienss from Florida. He is President of the Interfraternal Council and is a Big Brother at Holy Angels. The Circle K Organization devotes its time and effort to help others. They are a voluntary group that dedicates their service to the Belmont- Mt. Holly community. As a member, one can acquire the qualities of leadership, the rewards of service, and the unique spirit of friendship.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ASSOCIATION OF BELMONT ABBEY ELECTS ITS NEW OFFICERS The International Students Association of Belmont Abbey College recently elected new officers for the 1987-88 academic year. Member of the International Students Association represent countries such as India, Ghana, Mexico, Venezuela, Lebanon, Bahamas, Honduras, and of course the USA. The officers recently elected are: Michael Harney, President: Paul Cuadra. Vice President. Claire Castano, Treasurer: and Vicki Klemczak, Secretary Harney, originally from Costa Rica, is a senior Business major. He is a member of the Circle K Club and Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society. He has traveled to Costa Rica and Europe. Cuadra. originally from Nicaragua, is a senior transfer from Sacred Heart College with a declared major in Business Administration. Castano is a Lfaited States citizen from New Bern, NC Castano is a freshman and her major is Business Administration. She is active in various clubs such as ( Vice-President) Circle K. the National Honor Society a nd Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society. Klemczak. a resident of New York, is a sophomore business major. She is on the volleyball team, secretary of the Circle K Club, and a member of the Students Admissions Committee. The International Students Association of Belmont Abbey College strives to promote goodwill and cultural awareness in Gaston County The membership also devotes time to developing good relations between the nationalities that exist here at Belmont Abbey and those in the Gaston County region. Students are offered a chance to expand their knowledge and culture themselves and view a different way of life. 67
