ed. WY' Dom Patti! OCTOBER 20: Danny Evangelista's headaches begin. The Ring Committee is established as follows: Danny Evan- gelista, chairman: Joan Derby, Alan Epstein, Carol Heithaus, Joan Nuoffer, and Abby Silver. DECEMBER 1: The Ring Committee's troubles end. We finally come to an agreement on the choice of our Senior rings. FEBRUARY 16, 1949: Junior mothers and teachers surrounded by a back- ground of cupids and hearts, chat over tea. The affair was a success due to the excellent planning of the Tea Committee: Sally Falk, chairman: Mary Ann Bordiga, Jimmy Davidson, and Carol Garfunkel. MARCH 1: Miss Margaret Kelly's Business Law class attends a trial at the County Court House and almost lands in the clink! APRIL 1: Juniors and Seniors good-naturedly l?J make fun at each other as they battle at a game called basketball. The Seniors emerge victorious, but not without strong opposition. MAY 6: The Boys' Glee Club makes its debut very success- fully at the annual Spring Music Festival. MAY 20: Juniors regretfully Qi cut classes to decorate the gym under the expert supervision of Carol Garfunkel and her Committee. As evening approaches they steal away to slip into their formal clothes. Later everyone returns to a gym which has been transformed into a Southern Plantation. JUNE 1: The old order changeth, yielding place to new. Bob Keegan takes over as President of the G.O. with Jane Martin, as Vice-President, and Antoinette Pan- aro, as Secretary. JUNE 20-23: We rack our poor brains f?J in an effort to survive the horrible torture of Regents Examinations. Is it pos- sible for a five-day week to last so long? BllCKWllllD JANUARY, 1948: In secret conference we chose our Hop theme and got ready for the Big Day. MARCH 6: ln gay attire and with anxious expressions we and our upperclassmen Come to the Mardi Gras, SEPTEMBER 28: Wonders will never cease-we're JUNIORS! arden Scene, Junior Prom GLANCES JUNE 27: The halls echo as we sing, We've Got Rings on Our Fingers. This is the first time Bellows' Seniors have received their rings at the end of the Junior year. We look forward to next year in Room 32. SEPTEMBER 12, 1949: Mr. Brinkman's troubles begin as we make a mass invasion of the Senior homeroom. Betty, Jackie, Jean, Joan, Loda, Judy. Abby, Pete, Chappie, Jana. LATE SEPTEMBER: The battle of the sexes begins when we elect Carol Garfunkel first Madam President in many years. Females predominate in the other positions also, with Jean Engelhardt as Recording Secretary, Joan Derby as Corresponding Secretary, Sybil Nassau as Red Cross Representative and Josephine Marino and Marion Stephens as the G.O. Representatives. The men, however, did manage to take over two of the iobs. Eugene Giancola was elected Vice-President and Chapman Cronquist as Treasurer. FOOTBALL SEASON: We have a successful season on the gridiron, win- ning five of the eight games played. The victory over our greatest rivals, the Harrison Huskies, was con- sidered by most to be our greatest achievement. New Senior members who joined the cheerleading squad which ignites the spark of enthusiasm at the games are: Patty Clark, Jane Martin, and Antoinette Panaro. Peanuts, candy, sodal was a familiar cry to all at the games. Under the able leadership of Patty Clark, chairman of the Refreshment Committee, the arduous task of selling these items was carried out by the following members: Dotty Brasa, Sally Falk, Carol Garfunkel, Eugene Giancola, Carol Gotti, Carol Heithaus, Shirley Holland, Janet Irving, and Jose- phine Puleo. SEPTEMBER 29: The dramatic team, Hal and Ruby Holbrook, enact scenes from Shakespearean plays and present a skit from the life of Mark Twain. OCTOBER 6: In recognition of their excellent work, the follow- ing new Senior members are inducted into the Bel- lows' Chapter of the National Society: Chapman Cronquist, Noel Emelin, Danny Evangelista, Joan Gil- lette, Carol Gotti, Owen Maloy, Antoinette Panaro, Abby Silver, and Marion Stephens. OCTOBER 25 AND 26: The entire school is in a state of chaos as the pho- tographer comes to take group pictures for the year- book.
