STUDENT COUNCIL These are the students that are chosen as representatives by the student body 'to discuss needed repairs and improvements around school--improvements that range trom the preparations tor a new tlag to be used only in tair weather to a better heated auditorium. Serious problems under consideration were the acquisition ot special busses to carry rooters to school games, better eating conditions in the cateteria, and the behaviour and conduct in the boys' corridor. Dave McCord was elected president ot the group. and Mr. l-lowell acted as adviser. SERVICE CLUB The most worthwhile club in the school-this is our Service Club, who give ot their time tor others. Not only do they operate the Lost and Found Department, but they are also in charge ot our school store in Room 200. Joan Anderson. capable president, and Ming iailplt, aflwizei, have led th? firq-nip llwif. gcai 'wlfiifglw ffxgpergtgfjl with the Distributive Education Club in their annual white elephant :ale and took charge ot the Senior personal cards ar.d announcements. Why the girls on lntormation Squad, natchl Detying polite whistles that invariably issue trom behind locker doors, they sail through the boys' corridor or down the back hall and deliver their message with the swittness and courage ot the tamed riders ot the Pony Express. Or it the occasion calls tor a guide, they willingly oblige the visitor by leading him to the designated door more quickly than it takes a hep cat to do a Uhuckleberry duck. Miss Mabel Cottman and Beatrice Lott supervise the group, SECRETARIES Etticiency plus marks these ever-busy people. Operating the mimeograph ma- chine andthe switchboard are only a part ot their many duties. Located in the A. S. B. ottice, the study hall, the library, and the Boys' P. E. ottice, they help with tiling, count- ing, and compiling. Betore being recommended by the commercial department 'lor ottice work, a C grade average is required and the workers have a choice as to whether they would rather receive merits or credits.
