The plol involves the army and civilian populations in amusing circumstances. Elsbelh, lhe brallish sister, adds lo 'rhe confusion by always being around when Janie's beaus, Scooper and Diclc Lawrence, come calling. The play ends with the army having a party in lhe Colburn living room.
