No. 7 BELLEVUE HIGH SCHOOL, BELLEVUE, TENNESSEE JUNE 8, Glass History As tlIe sun slowly sets upon our high school days. we, the members of the Senior Class, begin to think of our past and wonder about our future. XVe recall many memories and experiences which will help us along the road of life. Although it seems only yesterday, it was September. 1959, that one hundred and sixty-four eager boys and girls found themselves wandering in the halls of Bellevue. After our sponsors, Mrs. Bowen, Mr. Burnett, Mr. Dark, Miss Miles, and Mrs. Smith, herded us into the gym we were given our schedules and set out on our own to explore the mysterious halls of Bellevue. When things settled down and only a few were still getting lost, we elected our class o.Hicers. They were president, Mike Perkersong vice-president, Virginia Tarkingtong secretary, Sandra Conatserg and treasurer, Carolyn Dillingham. Peggy jackson and Mike Perkerson were elected the Out- standing Freshmen. As sophomores we knew our way around. or at least thought we did, and branched out to take Il liner posi- tion at Bellevue High. Chosen to lead us were Carroll Allen, class presidentg johnny Watson. vice-president: and George Buttrey, secretary. The Outstanding Sopho- Inores, chosen later in the year of 1960, were Mike Perker- son and Sandra Crouch. 'Mr. Burnett, Miss Corkran, Mn. Daume, Mrs. Pittman, and Mr. Rochell had the pleasure fwe hopelj of sponsoring the ninety-eight sophomores. September of 1961 found one hundred and ten am- bitious juniors re-entering these halls to broaden their education. Our sponsors had again altered. They were Mr. Burnett, Mrs. Daume, Miss Corkran, Mrs. Pittman. and Mr. Reasons. Serving as our class ofiicers were presi. dent, Mike Perkersong vicepresident, Tommy Mayog secretary, Sandra Crouch, and treasurer, julie Furgess. Sally Prentiss and Mike Perkerson were chosen the standing juniors. The Hrst undertaking of the I Class was that of helping to sponsor the Sweet Party held in February. The junior-Senior Prom an event no junior shall ever forget. The maki: decorations and plans for the big night brought I closer together and made better friends of peop' had only known in passing. Finally at the close 4 year we ordered our class rings and settled ba await the day when we would be powerful seniol At last, September of 1962 arrived and there eighty-seven left to become seniors. Meeting wit sponsors, Mr. Burnett, Miss Corkran, and Mrs. Pi we selected johnny, Sally, Patti, and Tina as ou officers. Outstanding Seniors were 'Margie Beck: Carroll Allen. After we sold ads to finance thc and had our senior pictures made, the annual st: chosen and then it was time for mid-term exar the determining of the Honor Roll. We voted I nicdalists and superlatives. After this we order! personal cards, graduation invitations, and were ni' for our caps and gowns. As the year drew to the days were filled with many important even as Senior Day, late in May, Baccalaureate Servi linally Commencement on june 7, when sever seniors with heads and hearts held high mart receive their diplomas. A long path has been path well littered with books, friends, and cl moments: a path to be walked again only in the Ir of the seventy-nine seniors, now proud alu Bellevue High.
