New uniforms of bulky purple sweaters, purple wool skirts, white blouses, and an emblem added much to the uniformity of the girls. A member must attend every club meeting and all home games if she wishes to remain as part of the Chiefettes. They were also required to wear their uniforms the day of all athletic events. An election and campaign of officers was held in the spring for the following year. Cheer- leaders were also elected. This years Pep Club had a membership of over 140 girls.

Hilficker Student eouncil The Student Council represents the entire student body, and its activities. This organiza- tion consists of four officers and two represen- tatives from each class. The officers are chosen by an all school election. This year the Student Council spnosored the Homecoming Dance and parade. They organized safe driving, and citizenship committees, and took care of noon activities. During the basket- ball tournament they had charge of concessions and welcomed the other team. They were also the group to back the foreign exchange program. Meeting once every week the Student Coun- cil discussed and provided many ways to improve Bellevue High School. The Boys Octet Qminus Bill Woodrow, sing to the King, Queen, and their Royal Court at the Student Council sponsored Homecoming Dance. A f '!

Wake up Mr. The B-Club under their sponsor, Mr. James! James enioyed one of their most active years in the school's history. The organization for varsity lettermen, started the year by electing officers. One of the highlights ofthe year was the traditional initiation. Many new members were welcomed into the club, and eagerly awaited their next year. ln athletics the B-Club helped by control- ling the crowds, and assisting the visiting teams during the tournaments held here. They also held concessions, sold boost- ter ribbons, and co-sponsored a very success- ful Sweetheart Dance. M55s, I . I
