by Louie Hocks and Barb Swierczek Valentine’s Day is: accidently leaning on the horn of the car while saying goodnight on your first date. Valentine’s Day is: candy hearts, red and white colors and brightly colored flowers. Valentine ' s Day is the first real sign of spring after a long hard winter. With the warmer weath¬ er on its way. people tend to be happier, friend¬ lier and the atmosphere is all around pleasant. Valentine ' s Day is a day set aside for two peo¬ ple who want to show their feelings for one an¬ other. Guys show their feelings by candy, flowers and sometimes even a kiss. Girls show their af¬ fections by accepting the guy’s gifts. It’s cupid’s busiest day of the year. The custom of sending Valentines originated in France and England. It was the fourteenth night of the second month when spring is said to be on its way. The name “Valentine’s Day’’ came about when two well-known priests with the same last name, Valentine, died on the same day. Feb. 14. In memory of these two men. Feb. 14 is now referred to as Valentine ' s Day. We celebrated Valentine’s Day this year to let someone know you really care. It’s the day of the year you can’t miss, so give your valentine sweetheart a special kiss.
