Brigadier General Joseph V. Upon completion of school as a distinguished graduate in June 1992, he was reassigned to the staff of where he served as the Company Commander for two Basic Officer Courses. A native of Hammond, Ind., Captain Federoff enlisted in the June 1978 and served aboard USS Mount Whitney CLCC 205 as an He earned a cormnission as an Ensign in May 1980 through the Officer Newport, R.I. after completing his bacheloris degree from New York State After commissioning, Captain Federoff served briefly as AuXiliaries!Electrical Officer aboard USS Guadalcanal CLPH 75 prior to attending Surface Warfare Basic Division Officer School in Coronado, Calif. After school, he transferred to Yokosuka, Japan, where he served aboard the Seventh Fleet Flagship, USS Blue Ridge CLCC 195, in various division officer capacities including Deck, Electronic Warfare and Communications. Subsequent sea tours include duty aboard USS Voge CFF 10475 as Operations Officer, USS Boulder CLST 11905 as First Lieutenant, USS Estocin CFFG 155 as EXecutiveOfficer, and USS Fort McHenry CLSD-435 as Commanding Officer. He assumed command of Amphibious Squadron FIVE in January 2003. Captain Federoff has a Master of Science Degree in Defense and Strategic Studies from Southwest Missouri State University and a Master of Arts Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College.
