Dcpartriierit IMD DEP RTME T The Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance De- partment inspects, tests and checks, calibrates and repairs aircraft components, as Well as main- tains support and material handling equipment. The diverse mission supports the embarked Air Combat Element, Amphibious Ready Group and Amphibious Ready Group Intermediate Maintenance Activity. The four divisions - Staff CIM-lj, General Maintenance CIM-25, Avionics X Armament CIM-37 and Support Equipment fIM-45 - are comprised of 18 different work centers, each with a specialized support function. Working together as a team, AIMD uses more than 2,700 pieces of installed, portable, rolling and armament support equipment to support more than 100 systems in six different types of opera- tional aircraft. AIMD has the capability to test, repair and service more than 4,000 components. The level of repairs ranges from small delicate Work performed by micro-miniature repair tech- nicians, to large complex work tasks performed on the amphibious assault crash crane by the support equipment technicians. All together, AIMD normally processes in excess of 400 repair- able aircraft components with a total of more than 2,000 maintenance actions completed each month while deployed. ,WIP CDR, .
