The primary missiOH Of the CI-l-46E Sea Night is to provide all weather, dayfnight transport of assault troops. The movement of supplies and equipment is a secondary mission. Additional tasks include: evacuation operations and search and rescue operations over water. The LCAC hovercraft rides on a cushion of air supplied to the cushion by four centrifugal fans driven by the craft's gas turbine engines.
