Above: Coach Scott tries to keep warm as she looks on. . • Iff I The Tiger tennis team, led by Coach Karen Scott, ended the season with a third-place fin- ish in the Conference and an overall record of 6-8. Competition was tough this year because all the teams were very good. Throughout the season the girls had as much spirit for the last match as they did for the first match. In Dis- tricts the Tigers faced first-round opponent Le- Center and soundly defeated them 4-1 but were defeated in the second round by a tough St. Peter team 0-5, placing them third in Districts. Seniors Shannon Morrison, Kim Bergs, and Lisa Mellgren inspired the team with their leadership and talent. Shannon Morrison re- ceived All-Conference honors; and junior, Wendy Trost, was awarded Honorable Men- tion. The underclassmen have a lot of potential and will surely put the Belle Plaine tennis team in the spotlight next fall.
