CHORUS The high school chorus this year was made up of about sixty-five students in grades nine through twelve. Many of them remained members from last year while about thirty were selected in the fall. This year a half credit was given for participation. At the annual Christmas Concert some of the numbers sung by the chorus were Silent Night , O Come All Ye Faithful , Joy to the World , O Come Emmanuel , and Bohemian Carols . The District Solo and Ensemble contest was held in March. Nella Schuette received an A rating for her solo A Black Bird Singing , and Patti Anderson received an A for her solo Where'er You Walk . The district festival was held in April. The Spring Concert was held on April 30. Some of the selections of the chor us were Round and Round , Cherubim Song”, The Lord Bless You and Keep You , Catch a Falling Star , and Some Folks Po . The senior members of the chorus sang for the last time as a group at the commencement exercises, May 21. Mary Jean Plonske and Joan McCue were the accompanists for the chorus throughout the year. O'Day, P. Nitz, W. Stier, M. Dalaska, R. Hart, M. Fogarty, L. Buesgens, T. Mahoney, G. Westlund, W. Schuette. This year's bands consisted of a total of 154 students. Seventy-six of these were in the senior band; thirty-nine were in the junior band, and thirty-five were in the grade school band. The first major activity of the year that the band participated in was Homecoming. Members played for the bonfire, the coronation, the parade, and the football game. The annual Christmas Concert was held in December and the 25th Annual Spring Concert was held in April. The Spring Concert program consisted of half serious and half popular music. March 17th was the date of the district solo and ensem- ble contest held at Le Sueur. Ivan Otto received an A rating for his solo Elvarado .
