There were just a few of us. In fact, our graduating class of today started out as a first grade class of sixteen. There were A. Bedsole, M. Davidson, D. Dupere, II. Edwards, B. T. Forsee, F. Fontaine, H. Hollings- worth, Ed. Lively, N. Livingston, W. Mathews, G. Mills, B. Norman, Poole, C. Schoenfeld, L. C. Thomas, and B. VanLandingham. This was the year of our great circus. Also this year, our class was joined by B. Carlson, and J. Morgan. Oh, we'll never forget this year because we all got to be pilgrims in the Thanksgiving play ! l I We were happy to welcome McKee, and B. Lee as member of our third grade group. Our class was growing steadily, as this year D. Binkley, J. Farmer, and T. Sands joined us. If we thought our class grew last year, just look at the members we gained in this year, N. Bass, G. Corbin, J. Lee, S. Mixson, B. Puckett, and L. B. Warren. The May Day program was our spotlight event this year. We also received some new studentsg S. Poole, V. Warren, and F. Robbins. As we began changing classes this year, we were constantly getting lost. Our new members, B. Cowart, S. Hemphill, H. Lynn, I. Plank, M. Scrape, A. Walker, and J. Whittemore, seemed to be having the same trouble. The Student Council had a big dance this year and we elected a king and queen. M. T. Bessant and A. Glass joined us this year. Entering the new school this year was a new adventure to us, plus having G. Allen, T. Allen, Challancin, W. Harrelle, B. Kersey, T. Lawson, H. Little, K. Rayburn, Thomas, M. Throop, and C. XVhite join us. Serving and attending the prom this year was a wonderful experience. Our new member, L. Anderson, B. Bair, F. Collinsworth, and M. Wiser, seemed to enjoy it too. M. Blair, D. Chancy, W. Lee, L. Nash, P. Pierce, G. G. Pierce all joined our class in time to help with our prom, Colonial South. Few of us will ever forget this events Well, there we were, seniors, with our eleven grades behind us and one more to complete. We had five new students come this year, C. Caraway, B. Carter, D. Clause, E. Humphries, and Varnum. june 3, 1959. This was the magic date. That day we finally received our di- plomas and bid Belle Glade High a farewell. To studyhall, to English, to the library too, Farewell from the Seniors who are now leaving you Remember our football and basketball teams? They hustled and bustled so hard, it seems. In spite of not winning, the RAMS played swell, We were always behind them to give them a yell. Our band marched proudly down the field, While in the air, batons were reeled. Then came the main affair of the year, For the oncoming Prom we each gave a cheer. In evening clothes we all had our fun, And next day were bathing beneath the sun. Then came the Annual for our senior year, In our hearts, it will always be held dear. Our class play was next, and to our surprise The audience praised us with tears in their eyes. At last-GRADUATION-with class night before, On our high school days we are closing the door. Gone are the days so carefree and gay, To an unknown future we are on the way. At last we stand-diplomas in hand. The proudest people in all the landr' And as the years go by on parade, B.G.H.S. schooldays never will fade. For deep in the heart of each son and daughter Lie priceless memories of their Alma Mater. Farewell forever to B.G.H.S., Three cheers for the school we know is the best!
