Class History Twelve years ago in the first week of September, 1948, thirty-five fresh, young, and new faces for the first time entered their second home, where they learned reading, writing, and arithmetic. Out of the original thirty-five, seventeen not-so -fresh and new faces are left to graduate. They are as follows: Ron Iverson, Dorothy Sharp, Bruce Huffine, Mary Ellen Miller, Juanita Theisen, Clifford Lincoln, Marlene Rector, Byron Carter, Diana Hoffman, Robert Feddes, Karen Watt, Ken Nelson, Karen Fechter, Larry Bright, Milton Prescott, Gail Creecy, and Ken Tonn. Our second year saw the arrival of Sharon Kalkas, Dan Lowe, Charles Root, and Arnie Krushensky. ln the third grade no new students came, but in the fourth grade we welcomed Patti Jones and Bud Satre. The next year Joyce Wegan and Dave Johnson joined us when we went upstairs in the old grade school. We had all looked up to the big kids and now we were with them. During the sixth grade Bonnie Hietala joined usg and in the eighth grade Gary Ward joined our ranks. After our junior high years the big day came - the first day of high school. The old gang was terrified, but hardly more so than the new students, Arleen Schell and Bob Noon. Freshman initiation, much to our surprise, was lots of fun and so was the Fresh- man return party. The following year we were in charge of the initiation festivities. We carried them out with the help of two new sophomores, Butch Bopp and Donn Bergen. In our junior year, two new boys, Larry Martin and Arnold Tholkes, became our classmates. They helped with our prom which was entitled Chinese Mardi Gras. GRANDAD STEPS OUT was the title of the humorous junior play we presented. When school began in the fall of 1959, every one of us did the same old things a little differently, for we couldn't help but think a little sadly, This is the last time, whenever we did them. We were joined by one new student, Jim Kurtz. Once again we put on a play, this time it was called FATHER WAS A HOUSEWIFE. lt was lots of fun and so was our sneak trip in May. It seems the time has come for us to put to use all that we have learned in these twelve years. We are anxious to leave school, but we are sad, too. Truly, we shall never forget these halls, classmates, and teachers, for the best days of our lives were spent here with them. CLASS MOTTO: The word American ends in l CAN.
