Elected last spring, the Highlander cheer- leaders have achieved their utmost purpose with flying colors, that is, to build school spirit. The girls, Ruth Brewer, Susan Rice, Dottie Me- Kinley, Susan Evans, Shirley Hardin, and Roxanne Means were supervised by head cheer- leader jackie Cox and their sponsor, Miss Sut- ton. Miss Sutton has served with untiring effort as an able cheerleading sponsor since Bel Air was founded in 1957. Our cheerleaders were always on hand at all sports functions not only to cheer the team on to victory, but to lead the student body. Cheerleading camp, held for the first time at Texas XVestern, contributed greatly to build this year's cheerleaders into one of the best groups in El Paso.
