EL Amos, was , , , Hi-Y Club Charles Stephens, President Tommy Greer, Secretary Randall Cronin, Vice-President Wylie Hopkins, Treasurer - V Mr. Bond, Sponsor Purpose: To create, maintain, and extend throughout the school and com- munity high standards of Christian character. The problems that confront th-e youth of today were discussed and suitable conclusions drawn. The club engaged in activities, such as, annual boy-girl night, picnic, alumni reception, and trips to places' of interest. The Red Cross Club Elsie Hartley, President John Blackiston, Vice-President Miss Bagley, Sponsor During the year the members made sweaters, gave baskets of food to needy families, and prepared and sent an informative album to a foreign country. Guest speakers contributed several interesting meetings. J Home Economics Club Eleanor Dietz, Chairman Josephine Grove, Treasurer Pat Patton, Secretary Miss Greer, Sponsor The Home Economics Club, otherwise known as the B-Hivei' was very active this year. The them-e for the year was Personality Development Through Hobbiesf, Each member gave an illustrated talk on her hobby. This is one of the few clubs in school which is afliliated with a national organization. Secretarial Club , Evelyn Clapper, President Henrietta Pouska, Sec.-Treas. Eleanor Hamby, Vice-President Miss Burroughs, Sponsor This club offered facilities for acquiring valuable knowledge of business and its requirements through discussions, letters, interviews, demonstrations, and lec- tures. The members made a study of Civil Service requirements and maintained a bulletin board of commercial interests. Student Stagers Mary Holmes, President Peggy O,Neill, Sec.-Treas. Walter Wilson, Vice-President Miss Terr-ell, Sponsor The club did many interesting things this year. Many of the members went to see Cornelia Otis Skinner in 4'Edna, His Wifel' and the modern version of Julius Caesar. A play called 'fThe Tantrumf' was given in assembly. The members gathered information about actors and actresses of the stage and kept up with the current plays. The S ta ge-S truck S o phomores Marie Louise Grove, President Marguerite Miller, Sec.-Treas. Mary Kahoe, Vice-President Mrs. Garland Greer, Sponsor This club was organized by sophomore girls who enjoy seeing and acting in plays. The aim of the club is to prepare these girls for further activities in dramatics. Such things as presenting panrtomimes .and reading lines to devel-op expression were taken up, but the main project was two one-act plays. 44
