TI3I-HI- Y Tri-Hi-Y is a girls service organization which is affiliatecl with the state Y.M.C.A. Ours is one ol several hunclfecl in the state of Incliana. 3 TRI-Ill-Y OFITICIQRS AND SPONSORS SIZATPD: Rehecca Cannetly, presitlentg Sharon Roach, vice-presiilentg Lelah Boytl, secretary: ylutly Nelson, treasurer. STANDING: Miss Belva Newsom. sponsor. The only requirement for membership in the Tri-Hi4Y is that a girl he enrollecl in high school. At the beginning of each year a picnic is given in honor of all 9B girls .incl all girls new to the school. At this picnic the girls are given folclers that explain the full meaning of Tri-Hi-Y. The group is busy throughout the year with many activities. They sell pencils in the office from which they net a small income. They have solcl more than -4,200 pencils this year. The group also solcl W7 beautiful corsages for wear at the Sectional anti Regional tournaments. Service projects of the year incluclecl the distribution of Heart Funcl collection containers ancl the collection of approximately 2,000 pouncls of chilclrens clothing for clistrihution to the neecly of our own ancl other countries. Frienclship projects inclucle the presentation of a small gift to each teacher on his.or her birthtlay .intl the sponsorship of the annual Mothers Day Tea for which a program is presented .incl refreshments are servetl to the mothers of all high school stutlc-nts. This year's president is Larry Gabbert, senior, who particularly enjoys Cartooning and lettering. He made all the team-name-cards for the gym during the basketball season.
