Abbett, then the High school principal was the faculty advisor. In 1925 a change in faculty advisors gave Miss Imogene Chase full charge of the publication. A journalism class was estab- lished by Miss Chase and a great part of their work was given over to the editing of The Student. The Student took first prize in the state contests held in 1925, '26, '27, '29, and '55 under the advisorship of Miss Chase. Mrs. Margaret Schroedle was supervisor of this instruction, and soon afterward the students were permitted to show films in class. Miss Ruby Byerley is the present supervisor of the projectionists. B.H.S, students are fortunate in having access to a fine film program. An average of 500 films is shown each year to history, typing, home economics, and science classes. Library assistants came into being when the library was established. Mrs. Margaret Schroedle was the first librarian. Duties of the student assistants are to keep the books in first class condition, put them in place after use, and help other students find reference work. Assistants do all of the circulation work, and much of the processing of new books-stamping books with the school library stamp, pasting in book pockets and date-due labels, and shellacing new books.
