The name was shortened to Literary Club in 1926. Both boys and girls composed the club but since 1934 the group has been chiefly girls. The maximum number of members was fifty but in the last few years the membership has decreased. KEY CLUB The Key Club, organized in 1945 under the supervision of I. M. McFadden, then assistant principal of B.H.S., is now supervised by Charles E. Hartman, Dean of Boys. Key Club is an honorary fraternity for high school age boys, sponsored by the Bedford Kiwanis Club. Since membership is limited to thirty, the boys are voted in on a basis of scholastic initiative and social attitude.
