Although the crowd is small, those fans who did come are atdently loyal to their team. Although knowledge is the primary purpose of education, the secondary purpose is to promote co-operation and understanding among the students. It is here, in high school, that the character of a student is developed. By associating and working together, the students gain con- fidence in themselves and a sense of sportsmanship and fair play which they carry with them into later life. l D.A.R. The fact that speech is now mandatory for an academic diploma is indicative of the in- creasing role of speech in modern education.
