As legal representative of the Senior Class of 1939, I have the privilege and honor of producing and reading their last will and testament, as follows: We, the class of 1939, in sound and healthy physique, do hereby make this our last will and testament. We hereby declare all previous promises to pay, wills or testaments made by this class as null and void. It is with heartfelt pride that we step into a life unknown in possession of inval- uable knowledge gained in Bedford High School. Thus to the entire faculty, being responsible, we leave our deepest love and appreciation. To the Class of ’40, we leave the seats in assembly, of which we were so proud. To the entire enrollment, we leave our goal of high attainment, toward which they in future years can work. Each article here listed is bequeathed to the below individuals, according to the terms of this will and testament. I, Charlie Yowell, bequeath my athletic ability to David Draper. I, Imogen Claytor, leave my ability to argue to Jean Delaney. I, Dean Karnes, bequeath my title as the “most bashful boy” to Hugh Simpkins. We, Alvin and Lucile, bequeath our enjoyment of our senior year together to Jimmy McIver and Virginia McClintock. I, Margaret Turner, bequeath my girlish figure to Anne Miller. I, Jack Catlin, bequeath my love for the fairer sex to Hugh Mackey. I, Fred Powers leave my title of “sweetest” boy to John Turner. I, Nellie Hatcher, bequeath my ability to get along with the male population of this institution to Viola Shrader.
