Administration MR. JOHN GLENN Superintendent of Schools Most accomplishments of man have required an expenditure of energy, an ability to achieve, and an impelling desire to improve. Each of us is endowed with much energy and ability; it is desire or initiative which limits our achievements and delimits our true capacities as individuals. This untapped reservoir of unused intellectual capacity is a tremendous waste and one which none of us can afford. The determination to harness and utilize our full capacities is a decision left to each of us. The rewards are many for those of us who apply ourselves diligently to the tasks at hand. Best wishes are extended to each member of the Class of 1964 for a most happy and successful future. 10

MR. JAMES KINNEEN Vice Principal Few of our contemporary leaders have left such a lasting impact on the minds and hearts of all Americans as did our late president, John F. Kennedy. His ideals, intelli- gence, understanding, and steadfastness of purpose pro- vide worthy qualities for each of you to emulate. From his eternal flame, light your torch of faith in the Lord, an insatiable quest for knowledge, and a respect for the dignity of all human beings. Follow and live up to these precepts so that the New Frontier will become, in reality, a land of life, liberty, and happiness for all. MR. EDWARD GILLESPIE Principal There are many kinds of pride, but the most satis- fying of all is that which stems from achievement. There is nothing quite comparable to the pride in personal accomplishment, the thrilling inner glow which comes from doing — day in and day out— to the best of one ' s ability, that which he sets out to do. The Class of 1964 has accomplished much during its four years at Bedford High School and may take pride in its achievement. In terms of personal quali- ties, this year ' s senior class has been outstanding in its ability to organize and to implement successfully whatever plans it has undertaken for the well-being of its members and the student body as a whole. You, the Class of 1964, believe in giving to the world the best you have, and I am certain that the best will come back to you. m
