In this school you have found abundant opportunities through which you were able to learn, to grow, and to achieve so that your chances of success in meet- ing the challenges of competition in higher education, in industry, and in life have been insured to the degree which you desire to establish for yourself. This school provides a broad aca- demic outline or curriculum guide for the teachers and at the same time gives these teachers freedom to build a cur- riculum for all students that is rich, flex- ible, and challenging. Your personal characteristics which you have developed while a student at Bedford High will provide you with a bulwark of strength to help you to face up to every challenge with which you may be confronted. MR. EDWARD GILLESPIE Principal Your future years will be successful to the de- gree that you use your personal power to bless or blight the world. You will use it everyday, often without thinking of the reaction it may bring. Having known your class for at least four years, I feel confident that you will be able to represent mankind in the future on the highest moral level. As each month has its individual and dis- tinguishing characteristics which contribute to the success of the year, so you, the Class of 1963, have made your own individual contributions to the success of your four years at Bedford High School. To the Class of 1963: intellectual acumen, excellent school spirit, and cooperation with the faculty to enhance the stature and effectiveness of Bedford High School have combined to form a unique hallmark for the Class of 1 963. These qualities, which you have ex- emplified and practiced, have been gratifying to the faculty and a source of genuine pride to your parents and yourselves.
