XIki ii tk pirn, ijou i ukool, youA dm miu. The high school building was built in 1921 and dedicated the following year, 1922. There were only 27 students in the first graduating class, but five short years later the Columbus Street wing had to be added to accomodate the increased enrollment. The high school was under the superintendency of A. E. Moody and principalship of O. C. Irwin. In 1927 the principalship was filled by W. C. Miller. At this time the internal arrangement of the building was slightly different. The cafeteria was in the basement where you now find the woodshop, and the art room occupied the space known today as the library. In 1942 the Tarbell wing was built. The library was then moved to the present 200 study hall. Next, the art room was moved to Room 2. Upon the death of Mr. Moody in 1943, R. M. Gantz took the position of superintendent. He was followed in 1950 by D. D. Heskett. Three years later W. A. Vorlicky became the new principal. The next year, 1954, one last change was made in the building as the art room and band room traded locations, and an amphitheater was created in the new band room. 3
