The 49'ers staked their claim in Beaverton high the fall of 1945 by winning the pre-Christmas toy drive. Neophyte Duane Rasmussen made the varsity basketball squad. As sophomores they contributed Delores Nute, pianist and Hank Kingsbury, Hummer business man- ager, to the roll of student body officers. The Iunior Prom, Chopsticks , was a Chinese gar- den. Several girls were princesses in the biennial Spring Reign while Virginia Talbert was on the royal court of the Portland area Y-Teen formal. Their treasury overflowing the gold diggers sponsored an autumn senior dance. One hundred thirty-nine will receive diplomas at graduation May 27. Miss Geraldine Sanford, Mrs. Kathryn Ward and Mr. E.
