WAVETTES LOWER STATE AA CHAMPS Victory! Victory! was the cry of the Wav- ettes who climaxed a season of nineteen wins and one loss by winning the Lower State AA Title. As far first time had ever a chance Wavettes as can be determined, it was the a girls' team from Beaufort High won a conference title, let alone for the State Championship. The went down to defeat trying their best at Columbia, losing by only one point. Everyone can be proud of the Wavettes No. IO, Joyce Woods. She performed in every game with ease and confidence in herself and her team. She made a total of 444 points with a 23.3 game average. But where would the team be if it weren't for the coach? Not only did Mrs. Von Har- ten endear herself to the team and inspire them to their greatest heights, but she also worked tirelessly to help build Beaufort High's greatest basketball squad.
