We, as individuals, walk through the doors of this school and are molded into one body. Yet we remain individuals, comparing thoughts, ideas, experiences . . . and changing. We the students and teachers change, but the school is constant. Perhaps it seems ugly and impersonal to us when we first come, but as we work and play and grow here, we begin to cheer for its teams, to fight for its reputation, and to cry in its losses. When we walk through its doors for the last time, we look back upon it, for we have spent part of our lives here. The doors close, we are gone, but the impressions we have left will never disappear. Spirit reached an all-time high at BHS this year. There is spirit in each individual to support various teams and clubs. There is spirit to help others. There is spirit to let others know yours is the best class . There is spirit to achieve a closer faculty-student relationship. There is spirit to make suggestions and compromises. Probably most important, however, there is spirit to better oneself through all phases of high school life. 9

Cogitare est vivere Cicero To think is to live, said the grand orator, yet in the frenzied life at Bearden, in the course of early morning club meetings, themes for Mrs. Counts, chemistry tests, how many of us have the time to really think? Or to rephrase the question, how many of us have the time to really live? 8
