Although Bayside's 1977-78 Debate team was only comprised of one four- man team and one alternate debater, Bayside's representation in the Tide- water Debate league consistantly ranked high. In only their second competitive appearance of the year, Bayside's novice team placed second overall, and the negative debaters placed third in the twenty team tournament. The previously inexperienced de- baters managed to handle the topic of Federally guaranteed medical care with a great deal of enthusiasm and maturity.
