The Art Clubs big project for 1978 was the design and painting ' T of a mural hanging in the new ceramics shop at Haygood Shop- ping center. Hours of planning 3' and careful work went into the masterpiece in addition to trips to local art galleries and muse- ums. This years art club planned a trip to Hatteras that included sketching and camping. We may also thank our Art Club members for the decora- tion of the Christmas tree that stood in the lobby during the holiday season. x x Among the difficulties the newspaper staff has tried to overcome this year was the lack of a journalism class from which to draw interested students. The few people who found the time to meet after school and work on putting out the newspaper made a commendable effort to provide Bayside with a creditable publication. It is hoped that in the future there will be greater interest in journalism, especially from a voca- tional standpoint, and that a greater number of students will be available to help make the MARLIN MESSENGER the success it should be.
