Vocational Technical Institute Vo- Tech is a program that teaches technichal skills needed to obtain a job. Courses such as cosmetology, food, commercial art, auto mechanics, and secre- tarial courses are taught in two shifts during the day- a morning and afternoon period. This schedule permits students to at- tend a high school during part of the day to take courses needed for graduation. Courses at the Vocational Technical Institute usually carry three points of credit. Reasons for enrolling in Vo- Tech are varied. Some people who don't plan to go to college take advantage of the program to learn a trade. Others pursue hobbies just for the pleasure they get from it. The Institute has many students who do not attend a high school but are con- tinuing classes to better prepare themselves for the job market. Students and instructors often develop lasting friendships as a result of their inter-relations- a fringe benefit rare in high schools because of the size of classes. Vo- Tech is a good deal. ,..f- 1 Jual' lp ,: A 'f 5.
