Hill Sport at Spirit ight Proves Good During the height of the football season, the cheerleaders sponsored Spirit Night in order to present the annual Mr. Football award. Bayside's winning season-helped to make the evening espe- cially successful. Mr. Hill was an added highlight as he graciously allowed Miss Nocher to throw a cream pie in his face. Amid the excitement, laught- er, shouting, and spirit, Lance Platz was presented with the coveted title, Mr. Football. 40 mOI'e. 11' 19 if 2 Who, me? exclaims c suprised Karen Early. This year's Homecoming was the most outstand- ing in the history of Bayside. For the first time, the Marlins won their football game, defeating the Kel- lam Knights. Jane Whitmore supervised the entire evening's production, starting with the parade of floats and Homecoming Court, going on through the game, the crowning of Queen Karen Early, and the awarding Honestate first prize for their float, and ending with the Homecoming Dance. The entire evening's activities gave all students of Bayside many happy memories. BHS Spirit Reaches Climax During Homecoming Week Honestate's float, A Night to End all Knights places first in competition.

A Christmas Collage Big Production of Thespians As part of their continuing dramatic experimenta- tion, the Bayside Thespians put on their own crea- tion, A Christmas Collage. Borrowing passages from the works of such people as Francis Cardinal Spellman, Hans Christian Anderson, J. D. Salinger, Rod Sterling, Dylan Thomas, and Frank Jacobs, the players presented Christmas in all its varied themes and brought to life the printed word. Music, too, played its part in the production. The Collage ably demonstrated the great range of Thespian talent. n. ,,, , Dylan Thomas' Christmas Conversation transmits Thespian Christmas Seven o'clock news and Silent Night create ironic effect when heard together message.
