English Teachers Urge Student Involvement Into an effort to increase interest in the curriculum, the English teachers placed their emphasis on student participation. Specifically, every teacher acted as the catalyst for discussions derived from the topics in the curriculum. In this manner, every student was offered the chance to express his views, and the teacher as well as the student could benefit from the ideas pre- sented. A-L-M Furthers Language Proficiency Under the chairmanship of Mrs. Rodriguez, the Foreign Language department emphasized the de- velopment of four skills vitally important to the assimilation of another language, listening, compre- hending, speaking, and writing. Thus the aim of each teacher was to enhance the students' linguistic abilities through the use of the A-L-M series which has been used in the German and French curriculum and was initiated in Spanish this year.
