...l snug' Behind the fast footwork of Wayne Beagle, Larry Russell, Phillip Feldt, Daschell Copeland and com- pany, the Cross Country Team, under the leadership of Coach Woody Daly, posted a winning record of 4-2 in dual meets and high place finishes in the Dis- trict, Regional and State meets. Gne of the most sig- nificant victories was that over Granby. The Marlins tallied a perfect score of l5-49 in this meet. Anoth- er one pitted archrival Princess Anne against the Marlin feet fleet, but the Cavaliers fell before the tide of Bayside 27-32. Q l7 Wi New Coach Sparks Tournament ins With a new coach and new uniforms, the Varsity Field Hockey team began a new season. The team, with a few returning veterans, was composed most- ly of inexperienced players. Although standings were marked by losses, the yielded significant victories over all With unlimited spirit and determination, combined their offensive and defensive three successive victories and became the league tournament opponents. the players skills to win one of the outstanding teams in the tournament.
